Robert Messing graduated Clark University with a BA in Philosophy and has MBAs from City University and New York University. Professionally, Bob spent fifty years in the Computer Automation industry. His interest in archeology and ancient numismatics goes back to his first trip to Israel in 1959. Since then, he has gone on numerous archeological digs in Israel where he has found ancient coins, mosaics and Roman glass. He also identified and cleaned artifacts that came from the Temple Mount in Jerusalem. Bob has written articles on ancient coins that have appeared in “Hadassah Magazine” and “The Shekel” and was a founding member of the American Israel Numismatic Association.
The first coins the modern Israeli government minted tell the story of more than 3,000 years of Jewish traditions. These coins give us insights into Jewish holidays, various holy objects used in the Temple, verses from the Torah, and Jewish history throughout the ages.
