Chief Rabbi Shlomo Amar
Rabbi Shlomo Amar has held the position of Sephardi Chief Rabbi of Israel since 2003.  He is originally from Casablanca, Morocco and immigrated to Israel in 1962.
 
Before his appointment as Chief Rabbi, Rabbi Amar served as the head of the Petah Tikvah Rabbinical Court. He also held the position of the sole chief rabbi of Tel Aviv in 2002.
