Troye Sivan

Troye Sivan

Troye Sivan hails from South Africa, but calls Perth, Australia his home. Having a beautiful singing voice, Troye has already performed at many of Perth’s most important venues, as well as in amateur performances that span several continents.

In 2006, Guy Sebastian (Australia’s first winner of the reality T.V show Australian Idol) heard Troye perform “Over The Rainbow” as one of the opening acts on Perth’s Annual Telethon. So impressed, Guy asked Troye to perform another song with him later in the show. They received a standing ovation from a crowd of 2500 people. He was also successful in making it into the grand finals of StarSearch 2007.

Troye returned to the Perth Telethon 2008 with a stunning rendition of John Lennon’s “Imagine” and repeated the performance as the “opener” for Australia’s “Storm the Stage”.

Troye also performed the opening songs for Sir Bob Geldof’”s benefit event in Perth - including his first original song “For Them” – a moving piece about our world’s homeless children.

As an actor, Troye played the part of “Oliver” in Oliver! at Perth’s Regal Theatre. His big break came in February 2008 when a successful audition landed him the role of “Young Logan” (Hugh Jackman’s character at 12 years old) in the feature film X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE (20TH Century-Fox).

In 2009, Troye landed a role in a film called BETRAND THE TERRIBLE. It shot in Perth and awaits release.

In March 2010, Troye filmed his first lead role in a motion picture. The film is Spud and Troye plays “Spud”. The film is based on a best-selling novel and also stars John Cleese of FAULTY TOWERS and MONTY PYTHON fame. It is scheduled for release in November 2010.

May 2010 brought Troye back to the Perth stage with a run of performances of WAITING FOR GODOT starring opposite the amazing Sir Ian McKellan.
