Ancient Knowledge of the Stars

Astronomers have been watching  TYC 8241 2652 1, a star in the Scorpius-Centaurus stellar nursery, for quite some time, comparing it to a "young sun."  But in the past three years its dust cover has completely vanished, something scientists previously thought could only happen over the course of hundreds of thousands of years -- or even millions.  Clearly there is much we are still learning about the vast outer space around our earth.

Judaism has long studied both astronomy and astrology, accuarately calculating the number of galaxies in our cluster, and the number of stars in our universe (1018 if you were wondering).  About astrology, our traditions are more mixed.   To find out more, join Rabbi Pinchas Taylor as we begin our exploration of Judaism's view on astrology.

This is part 1 of a three part series.
