Relatively new on the scene, the American Jewish experience is a work in progress that has already had a major influence on Jewish and American life. This fascinating presentation will trace the development of American Judaism from its dawn in 1654 to the present day, pointing out the elements that have made it unique. Jonathan D. Sarna is the Joseph H. and Belle R. Braun Professor of American Jewish History at Brandeis University. He is regarded as one of the most prominent historians of American Judaism.
