1971, an age of rebellion against the materialism of parents; girls flocked to Machon Chana, thirsting for spirituality and Torah and mitzvahs.
Mrs Sara Labkowski, 21, married with 2 babies, started giving classes in her dining room. Within a year she had 90 students in a school named for Rebbitzin Chana, the Rebbi's mother. Women with little or no Jewish background, from around the world, were able to immerse themselves in Jewish life and spirituality, learning from inspiring teachers and role models. Since the inception of Machon Chana, thousands of girls and women have passed through its doors, generating generations of Jews who would otherwise have been lost to the Jewish people.
