Even before the Supreme Court s decision granting same-sex couples a constitutional right to wed, legal scholars have been trying to determine how such a ruling might affect religious institutions. The First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution offers some protections for clergy and religious groups but what are the real-world ramifications for their affiliated schools, hospitals and charities?
