Heroines in Jewish history are not only held up as role models worthy of emulation, but as personalities whose very beings are interwoven within the fabric of our identity, history and destiny. Focusing on Sarah and Rivkah; Deborah and Yael; Ruth, Miriam and Esther; as case studies, this workshop will explore such questions as: What are the common threads between these historical figures? What are the differences between them? What constitutes Jewish heroism? What are the practical lessons to our own lives and times?
