Divine Intimacy: Redirecting our focus behind closed doors
Presented by Mrs. Esther Piekarski

People talk a lot about shalom bayis - marital harmony, but what does it mean, and how do we acheive it?  Does it mean that husband or wife has to completely self-nullify to ensure peace in the home?  If men are really from Mars and women from Venus, how can we expect two such opposites to create a harmonious life together?  In part 4 of the Taharas Hamishpachah Review Series, Mrs. Esther Piekarski, one of Israel's "Top Ten Speakers" (Ma'ariv newspaper) and a pre-marital counselor for the Ministry of Religion, takes us on a behind the scenes tour to reveal what Torah and Chassidut have to say about peace and love.  Along the way we learn why marriage - and the union between husband and wife - most perfectly fulfills G-d's deepest desire in creating the world.  We find out that there are four ways of expressing love -- and how these reflect ways G-d relates to the Jewish people.  Underlying it all, Mrs. Piekarski emphasizes the importance of creating the emotional and physical climate within ourselves and our lives that will facilitate this deepest, most essential connection.
