Just A Little Math: Learning the Onas Haveset
Presented by Mrs. Chaya M. Klein

Public Privacy?  Reclaiming the privacy of your marriage!
Presented by Rabbi Rafael Aron

One of the three special mitzvot incumbant upon Jewish women is that of mikveh.  But observance of this mitzvah does not only impact on a woman's intimate relationship with her husband, it brings holiness and purity to her entire family, as is seen in it's common name, Taharas Hamishpachah.  While every woman studies these mitzvot as a bride, as the cornerstone of her marriage preparations, it is imperative that she and her husband review the laws frequently.  This is especially so if for long periods of time she is in a state where the laws do not apply, such as pregnancy and breast-feeding.  In addition to learning about the restrictions of the harchakot, how to properly prepare for immersion (chafifah) and woman will also need to study the laws of calculating "her" calendar.

Many brides feel overwhelmed and confused about the different calculations, how to "carry" dates forward, and what to do when they discover that they are pregnant.  In this elucidating talk, Mrs. Chana Klein of mikvah.org leads us through this halachic obligation, explaining the differences between the Onah Beinonis, the Veset Hachodesh, and the Haflagah.  She addresses questions of how the calendar is effected by Daylight Savings Time, pregnancy, and menopause.

Following Mrs. Klein's talk, Rabbi Raphael Aron of Melbourne, Australia tackles the effect that modern technology has had on the integrity and purity of the Jewish home.
