Inside, Outside

Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks

We can curse the darkness or light a little light.

Chief Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks continues his series on Chanukah with the three lights: Shabbos, Chanukah and Havdalah. Shabbos candles are lit inside, symbolizing the inner sanctity of the home; Chanukah lights are lit outside, in a doorway or in a window; and havdalah candles with their woven wicks represent the fusion of the inner light and the outer light.

This video was graciously provided by the Office of the Chief Rabbi Lord Sacks.
