Dr. Norman Blumenthal

Dr. Norman Blumenthal is a renowned trauma specialist and speaker. He received his masters in 1976 and doctorate in 1981 from Adelphi University, and practices as a licensed clinical psychologist in Cedarhurst, NY. Dr. Blumenthal is the former Director of Bereavement and Crisis Intervention Services for Chai Lifeline as well as as Educational Director of the Bella and Harry Wexner Kollel Elyon and Semikha Honors Program at the Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary of Yeshiva University. 

A past Vice President and current Board member of NEFESH (The International Network of Orthodox Mental Health Professionals), Dr. Blumenthal also serves as the Coordinator of Group Psychotherapy Training for Interns and Residents at the North Shore Long Island Jewish Health System and consultant to TOVA - a mentoring program for disenfranchised teens.


In 1992, Dr. Blumenthal helped found CAHAL - a yeshiva-based program of self-contained classes for children with learning disabilities, language impairments, and/or attention deficit disorders. He served as the first president of the organization and remains an active member of the Board of Directors and Chairman of the Board of Education.
