Born in Israel, Cantor Yisroel Meir Helfgot was raised in a home where the voices of the great cantors; Koussevitzky, Rosenblatt and Kwartin echoed. Cantor Helfgot was five when he realized his destiny as a cantor, he began singing some of the most challenging cantorial renditions at a tender age.
 
Cantor Helfgot spent his teenage years going to yeshiva while studying voice and music in his spare time. His religious observance and piety coupled with an instrument of remarkable beauty and versatility have established him today as one of the world’s leading cantors.
 
Cantor Helfgot inspires and uplifts Jews around the world. His heartfelt renditions of the traditional liturgy have made their way into the hearts of many regardless of religious observance, affiliation or denomination. Cantor Helfgot serves as the cantor at the Park East Synagogue in NYC and lives in Brooklyn with his wife and six children.
