There was one era in history in which a shift occurred that was so magnanimous, it changed the face of Jewish life forever. This shift was executed under the guidance of the Men of the Great Assembly.

With the spiritual sensitivity of the Jews decreasing, these bold men sensed the need for change. Their solution was to move the focus of Jewish life from a spiritual one toward an academic and scholarly one. These modifications were expectantly met with resistance, skepticism and rebellion.
