Our forefathers were shepherds; alone with the sheep; with no distractions; they were able to easily connect to the Creator. For ourselves, we need to practice our emunah, our faith. We need introspection and focus to get in touch with our spirituality. The distractions of the world make it difficult to concentrate and reach their level of emunah.
