Rabbi Immanuel Schochet has written and lectured extensively on the history and philosophy of Chassidism and topical themes of Jewish thought and ethics. He is a renowned authority on Jewish Philosophy and Mysticism. He is rabbi of Cong. Beth Joseph, and professor-emeritus of Philosophy at Humber College, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

This lecture was filmed at the 2010 Sinai Scholars Symposium at Dartmouth, College.  The Sinai Scholars Symposium is a yearly gathering in which students of the Sinai Scholars program prepare and present a paper to their peers and a panel of judges.  The judges, experts in a variety of Jewish subjects, also present lectures throughout the symposium.
